Tapestry!

11/21/2017

It happens.
Ideas for clothing too.
Might need to knit this striped dress.
I wonder what fleece I should start with...

ps . Just upgraded my computer system and it is acting funny, so I thought I'd  say a quick Tuesday hello before I start messing with things-- or messing them up.

Tapestry!!! Well look at that. Love how the weaving leads you to ideas for a garment. :-)

And as has been established, more fun garments mean more fun tapestries. QED.

Sarah....
Did you weave this with a cartoon in back of it .....or did you just start with an idea in your head...did you weave in the bottom of the dark gray ball and your 2 fleshy heels hanging out the bottom of the light gray knowing how the vertical weaving would evolve?.....Your eye and mouth and neck seem to be maybe a single black thread?...or are they a tiny sliver or tendril of yarn?....I like the hands with working thumbs...Is it your artistic delineation that works or do you let the viewer's eye fill in the blanks?...I so appreciate all your teaching ever since I first wrote questions to you way back when you were in Knitting in America on page 104....I had just had a major stroke in 2001 and told you I had a new Fireside loom staring at me. You took the time to email back to me your wish that I would grow and learn with it....you also explained your theory of winding a cop and your liking of combing wool......I explained to you what I meant by striving to be "one of Carol's girls" (Carol Russell) in her weaving classes here in New Jersey.....If you ever have a day when you are feeling underappreciated, please remember that your continuing contacts with knitters and spinners and weavers all over the United States are greatly appreciated......from Janet way over on the Atlantic Coast

Thank you for another great article. Where else could anyone get that kind of information in such a perfect way of writing? I have a presentation next week, and I am on the look for such information.
