to weave a 3D, four selvedge bag
using a cardboard box as a loom.

The project would portable,
the materials cheap,
the loom recyclable.
And it might be fun.
It was.
wanted an essay for Interweave Knits.
Time passed, as it does.
I used my bag and made other things.
The idea survived, adapted and spread by itself.
In 2007 Madelyn van der Hoogt of Handwoven, suggested this:
More years went by.
I made other bags,
put this one away,
forgot about it.
Tapestries were woven,
sweaters knit
stories told.
I did some tidying
found my beloved bag
got it out again.
It was still great.
Then last week, contemplating a pile of beloved leggings
with the holes in the knees too enormous to mend yet again,
I remembered the box part of the equation.
This morning my drafting table looks like this.
