Running Shoes—again

4/17/2018

Picture
Gotta have ‘em!
Picture
Fabric store ‘eco-felt’ (from plastic bottles apparently),
that has been languishing in my shoe experiment stash,
plus a scrap of nylon something-or-other
from a failed waterproof shoe experiment,
Picture
and the not-quite-worn-out soles
 from the now-disintegrating yellow ones,
Picture
equals a relatively swift,
and somewhat half-assed,
pair of minimalist running shoes.

Function has an elegance all its own.

‘Done is better than perfect.’ That is just what I needed to hear today!
The shoes look terrific. Happy running! 👣

Seriously - you even make your own shoes? Is there nothing you can’t do? You are the queen of creativity. :-)

Love the minimalist shoe posts! If you are ever successful with the whole waterproof (I'd settle for water-resistant) version, please do share. The cold, wet, wrinkly toes of winter runs and hikes (NorCal) is the only barefoot-lifestyle bit that I've not solved yet. And boy, do boots and hiking shoes feel weird on those few hiking occasions that really require them (I can handle the wet feet for the hour or so a run takes but hourS get to be too much), not to mention that I can feel hips and knees talking that normally don't speak when traditional lugged soles are worn.
One of these days, I will try my own hand at making them. Thanks for your continued regular sharing, enabling and encouraging of all the arts you practice. All your time and effort spent to bring this blog to the world is appreciated by so many.
